Paper OS: eight notebooks, each built for one job
October 1, 2026
Every planner I've ever bought had the same problem: it tried to be a calendar, a to-do list, a budget, a journal, and a habit tracker all at once. By March it was half empty and I'd gone back to scraps of paper.
Paper OS is my answer. Instead of one notebook that does everything badly, it's eight notebooks that each do one thing well.
The eight books:
- Daybook: your day, one page at a time.
- Docket: goals and projects, broken into next steps.
- Order Book: orders and customers for a small business.
- Ledger: the household budget.
- Housebook: home maintenance, repairs, and records.
- Kitchen Book: meals, recipes, and grocery lists.
- Training Log: workouts and progress.
- Tally Book: habits and anything else you want to count.
Use one, or use the whole set. They're built to work alone or together.
Undated, so nothing gets wasted. Start any day of the year. Skip a week without leaving blank pages behind you.
Every book has the same bones: a contents page, a how-to-use page, and 120 numbered pages. Numbered pages mean you can actually find things again.
Two formats:
- PDF, $19. Linked navigation, so you can jump around on a tablet or print the pages you need.
- Printed, $44. Spiral-bound so it lies flat on the desk.
I typeset every page myself and fulfill printed orders from Ashland, Virginia.
